At
last, another update to this web site (finally). My apologies for not
keeping it more current in the last couple of years
but I'm now committed to upgrading and updating the site on a regular
basis. I hope you will like the improvements.
Below is a recent addition to my collection, in 1/72 scale which is
generally harder to find than the 1/50 scale Douglas Factory Models.
Many Thanks to Lucky Burton for contacting me & selling me this
beautiful model!
As Always, Thank You For Visiting!

Welcome
Fellow DC-8 Enthusiasts!
As
you may guess from my eMail, eBay and web addresses - I'm a HUGE FAN
of the Douglas DC-8 and have been for over 40 years! I originally created
this site in the year 2000 to display my DC-8 model collection.
However, though I am still enthusiastically displaying my models (see
above & below), I am continuously adding more and more information
about the Wonderful History of the DC-8 and the Airlines who
Operated and Continue To Operate What I Consider To Be The Finest First
Generation Jetliner.
Please click on any of the links below for more information about the

Information & Photos
This
Year Marks my 35th Anniversary of Collecting Professionally Finished
DC-8 Models. Prior to 2005 I've collected models from Large Scale Douglas
Factory Type Polished Aluminum Models (My Specialty) and Cutaway Models
- Down To Small Scale 1/200, 1/400 & 1/500 Scale Die-Cast Models.
From 2005 onward I've actually been reducing my Resin/Plastic/Fiberglass/Die-Cast
model collection (due to space restrictions) and
Concentrating On My True Passion - The Douglas
Factory Polished Aluminum Models.
In addition I collect memorabilia about the DC-8 & the two great
airlines that I had the privilege of working for -
Western Airlines & Delta Air Lines.
Way back in 1973 when I acquired my first Douglas Factory DC-8 model
(Iberia Livery) I never, in my wildest dreams, thought I could someday
have a DC-8 Collection with a Large Scale Metal Model (preferably a
Douglas Factory Type) of each of the 44 Original Delivery Customers.
However, on June 13, 2005 my dream came true with the addition of the
last original customer I needed - which was a Riddle Airlines DC-8F-54.
If you would like to read a more detailed
history about my 33 years of model collecting please click on the
"My Personal History of Model Collecting...."
below.
Looking
forward, I plan to continue collecting DC-8 models (Douglas Factory
Type) and a few more DC-9s as well, but perhaps not as actively as in
the past due to very limited availability of these beautiful polished
aluminum models.
Most importantly, I plan to continue expanding this web site
to include more & more information about the Great
Douglas Eight!
