Martinair's
DC-8 History:
Martinair Holland is quite a success story in the airline industry.
In 1958 Martinair began operations by flying sight seeing tours
over Amsterdam. Since that very modest beginning they have grown
into the second largest airline in The Netherlands and now fly
passengers and cargo literally all over the world. Though they
were not an Original Factory Delivery Customer of the DC-8, Martinair
began flying the DC-8 as their first pure jet aircraft in 1967and
acquired them by leasing or buying them on the used aircraft market.
Martinair continued to utilize the DC-8 in two different versions
until 1978. Click Here
